3.31.17 Friday Favorites

So, last week something happened that I had been dreading for a while now...

Last week was my 30th birthday.

I decided for this birthday, I wanted to go on an adventure to somewhere that I had never been before.  After doing some research, I decided to visit the sweet southern coastal town of Savannah, Georgia.  We spent two days in Savannah and then enjoyed our trip back home by stopping in Beaufort, South Carolina.  It's one of my absolute favorite places to visit!

Here's my birthday vacation themed Friday Favorites list for this week!

1. The Paris Market & Brocante

The Paris Market & Brocante was probably the cutest store I have ever been in!  I could have spent hours looking at all of the decor, jewelry, clothes, not to mention the beautiful and yummy looking macarons!  When you walk into the store, you can't help but fall in love with the old wooden floors, and the perfect mix of vintage and modern.  Then, when you venture downstairs, you will find a beacon of home decor goodness!  I literally wanted to buy it all and go home and decorate! The Paris Market & Brocante is a must visit in Savannah!

2. Cafe at City Market

While we were walking around downtown Savannah, we wanted to eat at a local restaurant.  We decided to try the Cafe at City Market and sit outside on the porch.  It was nice to be able to people watch and grab a bite of local food.  Also, they have peach sangria in a cute mason jar!  It was super yummy and the cool part is, you can ask for a to-go cup and walk around Savannah with your drink.  I know!  It's the best thing ever!

3.  River Street Sweets Candy Store

If you are in Savannah, you have to go to River Street Sweets!  They are known for their awesome pralines and chocolate bear claws.  When you walk in the door, you instantly smell sweet sugary-ness!  Plus, they give you a praline sample.  You can't not buy pralines when you are in Savannah!  River Street Sweets also makes saltwater taffy right there in the store.  It's cool just to watch the old school taffy machine do its magic!

4. Scout Southern Market

On our way back from Savannah, we stopped in the beautiful town of Beaufort, South Carolina.  That's where you'll find this adorable boutique, Scout Southern Market.  Here, you will find all things southern and gorgeous!  Plus, they have a ton of pineapple decor, so you know I'm going to love it!

5. Rhett Art Gallery

We always stop in the Rhett Gallery every time we are in Beaufort.  This family owned art gallery has beautiful paintings for any art collector!  They are so friendly too!  One of my absolute favorite paintings is the palm tree painting shown below.  I also love any of the ones of Hunting Island.

6.  Dockside Restaurant

This restaurant is a MUST when you're in Beaufort! We eat here every time we are in town, and have even joked about driving down for 4 hours one day, just to eat and come back home!  Once you cross over the Woods bridge leaving Beaufort and entering Lady's Island, Dockside is on the left,  on the waterfront.  We always get the Surf and Turf with steak and fresh fried shrimp.  Gorgeous views, paired with awesome food!
