What the Bible says about Tassels

Last weekend, I had the awesome opportunity to be a vendor at the Refresh Conference at Simpsonville First Baptist.  The weekend long conference was dedicated to creating community for adoption and foster parents.  I met so many wonderful ladies and I feel like I learned so much about how God calls on people to love and serve one another.

Another thing that I learned last weekend, was the symbol of the tassel and I was so surprised when I found out that the Bible mentions tassels in numerous places!

  • Matthew 9:20 "Just then a woman who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years came up behind him and touched the fringe (tassel) of his cloak." Verse 22 reads, "Take heart daughter, your faith has healed you."

  • Numbers 15:39-41 "It shall be a tassel for you to look at and remember all the commandments of the Lord, so as to do them and not follow after your own heart and your own eyes...so that you may remember to do all My commandments and be holy to your God.  I am the Lord, your God."

How amazing is that?   From now on, the significance of a tassel will not just be an idea of something "trendy" to me.   It now has a beautiful meaning of our importance to God, and how it can always be a reminder of Him.

I've loved creating tassel jewelry and pretty much all things tassel!   This week, I shipped out a custom tassel keychain and included these verses on a card for my client.  How amazing to do what you love and share God's word too!

Check out my Etsy shop for all things tassel, and even some tassel bookmarks for your Bible!

1.7.18 Friday Favorites - Happy New Year

Happy New Year sweet friends!

It has been way too long since I've posted.  Life and the craziness that was holiday craft markets happened at the end of the year, and while it was marvelous, it was also exhausting and left little time to compile these blogs that I love!   However, I had such an awesome time meeting everyone that came out to the markets and I can't wait to do them all again this year!

Since it is a New Year, I'm starting off with a whole new list and look for my Friday Favorites.

As always, it's a list the things, products, people, or places that caught my eye and made me swoon throughout the week.

1. Psalm 91 Studio

From the moment that Cheryl (owner of Psalm 91 Studio) and I met, I knew we were going to be friends!  She has the kindest heart and loves to use her gift of jewelry making as a way to bring women to the Lord.  This girl makes beautiful jewelry, that is fashionable and functional.  She even carries a line of jewelry that works perfectly with essential oils, which I think is the coolest thing! The image below shows some of her essential oil jewelry.  I have this necklace and use it often with essential oils for anxiety.  I love it!  Check her out on Instagram @psalm91studio

2. Bishop & Branch Body Cream

I had the opportunity to meet this sweet girl at two of the holiday markets that I was in last year.  Lydia, owner of Bishop & Branch Body Cream, makes the most amazing body creams, soaps, and candles.  Her "Holiday Spirit" candle burned all throughout the holidays at my house, and still has some wax left!  Plus, it is my new favorite scent! The body butter is perfect for super dry skin and a little bit goes a long way.  I love it!

3. Color Street by Michelle Jones

I had never used any type of nail color strips before, until Michelle Jones sent me a sample of Color Street nail strips.  They're amazing and so easy to apply!  Michelle Jones always posts the most gorgeous nail inspo pictures (all Color Street of course) on her Instagram.  Plus, she's a South Carolina girl!  How gorgeous are these black and gold abstract nails?!

4.  House Fenway

I've been following House Fenway on Instagram for a while now and I always love her decor inspo and cozy pictures!  Throughout the holidays, it was gorgeous buffalo plaid images, and cozy flatlays with greenery.  During the fall months, it was dreamy pumpkin shots,  coffee, and plaid.  I can't wait to see what she has in store for us throughout the New Year!

5. The Adorned Fox

Tabathia, owner of The Adorned Fox, and I have been friends for over a year now.  She's so sweet and I've seen her business and her, grow so much throughout this past year.  What she's doing with her talent is such an inspiration.  Many of her videos have been viewed and shared over thousands of times.  Her wood burning and hand lettering is gorgeous.  Plus, what she's doing now with paint will blow your mind!  Check out this adorable mason jar snow scene!

6. Ashley Brooke Designs

Every Sunday, I look to see which Bible verse Ashley Brooke has posted on Instagram.  I feel like too often in our society, people are hesitant to share their faith.  So, when someone does, and isn't afraid to share it, I appreciate it so much!  Other than Ashley Brooke sharing gorgeous images like the one below, and always having a perfect manicure, she also posts the most dreamy fashion, make up, and home inspiration.  Just looking through her pictures, you can't help but want to be friends with her!

DIY Flocked Wreath

I am totally loving the look of all of these flocked Christmas trees and wreaths this year!  So, I decided to create flocked wreath for my front door.

I went to Hobby Lobby to buy the supplies that I needed for the wreath, including the flock spray.  I already had the plaid ribbon that I used for the bow, seen in my mirror post here.

This is the greenery wreath that I used.  I got it at Hobby Lobby, for only $5!

Here is the snow/flock spray that I used.  It was only $2.50 after the 50% off all of the Christmas items at Hobby Lobby.

I took the wreath outside to spray it and held the sprayer closer and farther away as I moved across the entire wreath.  I didn't want the wreath to be completely white.  I just wanted it to look like it had a dusting of snow on it.

Here's what it looked like after I finished spraying it.

When I finished spraying the wreath, I let it dry for about 40 minutes.  It will still come off all over everything, so be careful!

Then, I decided to make another bow, like the one I created for my dining room.

Check out this blog post for the video that I used to make the bow.

Here's how the wreath looked before I hung it on my front door.

Here's the finished product.  I love how it turned out!  I can't wait to start flocking other Christmas projects now!

Christmas Pallet Signs

I am so excited to decorate for Christmas this year!

I've already put up and decorated the tree in our living room and I have three more to go!  I started feeling quite festive early this year and made these adorable pallet signs last month.  I'm super excited about them!  Sometimes when I create things, I fall in love with them and that makes it hard for me to sell the them.  Does anyone else have this problem?!

I just had to share these with you though!  "Merry & Bright" is only $20 in my Etsy shop!   I love the merlot red color and the gold glitter for the "&" sign.   This sign screams farmhouse chic!

"Let it snow" is 45 inches by 10 inches and because of its larger size, I haven't added it to Etsy yet.  I've been hesitant to ship anything too large.  If there is an interest for the larger sign, I will add it to Etsy or can sell it directly to someone in the Greenville area.

Happy Decorating Yall!

1. Ivy and Violetts Tablescapes

I've been following this beautiful company on Facebook for a while now and everyday they post the most gorgeous things!  I fell in love with this tablescape of white pumpkins and farmhouse decor.  Love!

2.  "A Great Bible Quote a Day Journal"

My mom and I were looking through TJ Maxx this week and we came across this journal, while I was looking for a 2017 planner.  Each page in this book has a Bible verse with an entire page devoted to writing notes on.  I love this idea!  My mom and I bought each bought one to journal and take in the Bible together.

3. Angelica South Carolina Bracelets at Skatell's

Us South Carolina girls love our South Carolina stuff!  So, of course I thought these were just darling when Skatell's Jewelers in Greenville posted them on their Instagram page this week.

4.  Knack and Jill Pumpkin Towel

This week I came across this hand painted tea towel on Knack and Jill's Instagram.  How cute would this look in your kitchen during the fall?  Adorable!

5. HelloAllisonArt Painting

I've been following HelloAllisonArt for a while now on Instagram and I couldn't stop looking at this mini painting when she posted it!  I love the colors and texture!  It's also pink which is pretty awesome that Breast Cancer Awareness month is coming up.   Great work, Allison!

6.  Carolina Tassel Necklace

I know that I might be a smidge biased on this next favorite thing, but I really do love this Carolina Gamecock color tassel necklace that I created this week!  I'm liking the shape and color of these garnet beads!  Check it out on my etsy shop

09.09.16 Friday Favorites

Happy Friday ya'll!  Here's a list of the things this week that caught my eye and made me swoon.

1. Gucci Marmont bag

I get emails from Gucci often, but this email totally caught my eye, with this bright pink beauty!  How cute is this little bag?  I love the color and the gold accents!

2. Rae Dunn mugs

These cuties have been all over Instagram lately and I've even seen them at my local Marshalls.  Evidently, they now have almost a cult following and are hard to find!  I'm on a mission to acquire a couple of these simple, yet beautiful mugs in the near future!

3.  Glam Glow Supermud Clearing Treatment

Nothing makes me feel more girly than doing a face mask.  Am I right?!  I remember growing up, having slumber parties, and always doing a face mask with my girl friends.  Now, if I could just talk my husband into doing that with me...  ;)   Last week, while I was at Sephora, I used my Beauty Insider points to score a small bottle of this wonderfulness!  It's amazing!  You can see everything coming to the surface of your pores!  Try it out!  You'll love it!

4.  Pamela J. Bates Painting

I've been following Pamela J. Bates for a while now on Instagram and I've fallen in love with all of her oceany blue paintings!  Then, I saw this one... OMG!  Beautiful use of color and just the perfect amount of abstract.  I LOVE it!  Not to mention, its for a great cause.  She created this painting to be auctioned off for a boy who has brain cancer, and his family.  Check out the Instagram account @brushstrokeforbraydon for more information.

5.  Zac Posen Dress

So, let me tell you, this dress is everything... I VERY rarely have a need to dress up quite like this, but if I did, I would need this dress.  This color is gorgeous and this cut screams, "I am totally rocking this on the red carpet."  I wonder if this would be a tad much for a cruise ship dinner?  hmm...  One can dream!

 6.  Panthers Necklace on Etsy

I know I might be a little biased on this next favorite thing, but I do love this Panthers color tassel necklace on my Etsy shop!  We are now in full swing of football season and it would be the perfect tailgating accessory!  For the month of September, all of my team colors necklaces will be $5 off ($35 each).

09.02.16 Friday Favorites

Happy Friday Ya'll!  This week, I've been getting my house decorated for fall.  I know, I know, I'm doing it early, but fall is my favorite season!  I just love the smell of cinnamon and pumpkin spice, cooler weather, bonfires...  AH!  Fall!

Anywho, I wanted this week's Friday Favorites to be somewhat fall themed.  Here's a list of things that have caught my eye and made me swoon this past week!

1.  Luca + Danni Key Bracelet

These bracelets are super cute and would be a great accessory to any fall outfit!  They also have little inspirational words on them like - love, believe, be kind, and inspire.  Adorable!

2.  Vionic Caballo Flats in Merlot

If you've never tried on a pair of Vionic shoes, you're missing out!  I've been a Vionic fan since I bought a pair of flip flops from them several years ago and fell in love with the brand!  They have amazing arch support and are comfortable without looking like grandma shoes (no offense to you grandmas out there!)   These flats are super cute, comfortable, and in the season's hottest color - Merlot!

3.  Pumpkin Pie Spice Coffee Creamer

Nothing tastes more like fall than pumpkin spice anything!  I love this coffee creamer and it's a great deal at Sam's Club for a two pack.  Yummy AND a good deal!

4.  Robert Brown Interior Design Study in Atlanta Homes & Lifestyle Magazine

I love using taupes and cream colors in interior design.  You can do so much and add any accent color with it!  When I saw this study on the Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles website, I fell in love with the softness of the cream colors with the dark wood for the builtins.  It just looks so fresh!  I would totally drink a pumpkin spice latte in that cozy chair!  ;)

5.  Be Still Clothing Co.

I came across this company on Instagram this week.  They have the absolute cutest t-shirts ever! I love that it is a Christian company and they're trying to share the word of God through fashion!  Love love!!!

6.  Olive Green Infinity Scarf

I've been crocheting, since my grandma taught me over 20 years ago.  I enjoy doing it, and I love the finished product of these chunky infinity scarves.  One of my favorite colors for fall is this olive/army green and I can't get enough of this scarf!  Check it out on my etsy shop!

Friday Favorites 08.26.16

Happy Friday yall!  This week we took a much needed mini vacation with some great friends and headed to the coast.  We spent a long weekend in Florida and stopped to sight see on the way down and on the way back.  This week's Friday Favorites is vacation inspired. ;)  Here are some of my favorite things from our Florida trip!

1. The Conch House

The Conch House  in St. Augustine, Florida has been one of my favorite beachy restaurants for over 13 years now.  It's like going to the Caribbean without ever leaving the states.  They have a ton of outdoor seating, but my absolute favorite places to sit are the little tiki huts that they have above the marsh.  They all have a great view of the marina and of the St. Augustine lighthouse.  It's a great place to watch for fish, dolphins, and even alligators.  You definitely have to get a pina colada and the calamari.  They will be the best you've ever had!

2.  The Red Pineapple

If you know me, you know about my obsession with pineapples.  So, of course the name of this store made me curious to see what was inside!  This little boutique in downtown St. Augustine is adorable! (Even if I didn't see any pineapples inside).   They have everything from cute clothes, jewelry, home decor, etc.  It's like Anthropologie and a small town boutique collided and made a perfect little store!  Check it out if you're in the area!

3.  Bracelet @ 29 Olives

This boutique in downtown St. Augustine was super cute!  I loved this "Be Brave & Keep Going" bracelet.

4.  Converse

I bought my first pair of Converse in Jacksonville, Florida over 13 years ago.  So, how fitting was it to get another pair while I was there this time?  I actually still have those black Converse and wear them from time to time, but I wanted a gray pair.  I got these at DSW at the St. Johns Town Center.  I think I've worn them everyday since we got back from our trip.  Love them!

5.  Homewood Suites Jacksonville at the St. Johns Town Center

I'm super picky about hotels and this is one of my favorite places to stay in Florida.  It's an awesome location, the hotel staff is amazingly nice, the rooms are clean and spacious, and did I mention the location is great!?  Target, The Cheesecake Factory, PF Changs, Panera, Dillards, Nordstrom, Anthropologie, Louis Vuitton, JoAnns Fabric, Pottery Barn,  DSW, etc are all within walking distance.  It's a shoppers dream!  Literally, any store or restaurant you could ever think of, are all in one location.  Definitely visit the St. Johns Town Center and stay at the Homewood Suites!

6.  Teri Whitner Art - Ornament

On the way back home, we stopped by Charleston, South Carolina and went to the Market. The beautiful handcrafted pottery by Teri Whitner caught my eye.  We came home with these two ornaments, but all of the bowls and platters were amazing!  Check out her etsy shop!
